2025 Council tenant garden competition launched

Published Thursday, 08 May 2025

Council tenants are being encouraged to enter Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council’s annual garden competition.

The competition is open to its tenants and leaseholders, who are being urged to showcase their green-fingered skills in the garden.

There are six categories to enter:

  • Best Communal or Shared Garden
  • Most Improved Garden
  • Best Eco Garden
  • Best Small Space
  • Best Allotment Space
  • Best Budding Gardener (18 or under)

Executive Member for Housing, Councillor Michael Mullaney said:

The garden competition is a great way to celebrate all the hard work that our tenants put into their gardens.

You don’t need to have a huge space to put those green fingers to work. Pots, hanging baskets all help and its amazing what people can do with the smallest of places. So, whether you just take pride in your lawn or share a communal garden or prefer growing vegetables on your allotment this competition has a category for all. We also look forward to seeing if we have some younger gardeners across the borough.

I look forward to seeing the entries.

Entries for the tenant garden competition need to be submitted by Wednesday 30 June 2025.
