Remembrance Sunday in Hinckley

People across the borough paid their respects at this year’s annual Remembrance Sunday services this weekend.

Hinckley’s service, on Sunday 9 November, was led by the Vicar of St Mary’s Church, Reverend Ian Hill at the Argents Mead war memorial.

Clergy and church members of different denominations, as well as the Royal British Legion and veteran groups, civic leaders, representatives of the guiding, scouting and cadet organisations, all contributed to the morning’s moving service and to the parade.

Mayor of Hinckley and Bosworth, Richard Flemming said:

“Remembrance Sunday is always a deeply poignant occasion, and I felt truly honoured to represent the borough at this year’s service. The Garden of Remembrance was filled with veterans, serving personnel, uniformed organisations, and members of the public — all united in paying tribute and expressing heartfelt gratitude to those currently serving and to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.”
