Borough Council issues statement on premises at 3 Chapel Street, Barwell
HBBC is working closely with the operator of the premises at 3 Chapel Street, Barwell to ensure it operates within its existing planning permission and licence when it reopens later this week.
The council issued a Temporary Stop Notice on 28 February which required the business owner to cease all unauthorised activities while the council carried out a formal investigation. This was prompted by complaints raised by local residents.
The business owner has confirmed it will now operate on a membership-only basis within the existing permission for a bar business and closing at 11pm.
The council will continue to monitor noise from the premises and work with partners to address any concerns. The Temporary Stop Notice will be kept live so that the council can take further action should the use exceed its existing permission as a bar open until 11pm.
