Playgrounds in Ratcliffe Culey and Fenny Drayton will remain open and available for local families after the Borough Council took on the leases to secure their ongoing use.

The Borough Council has also taken over ownership of four community defibrillators (defibs) in Witherley, Fenny Drayton, Atterton and Ratcliffe Culey, ensuring they remain in place and available for residents and visitors.

These steps have been taken following a change in local arrangements. The Borough Council offered to take on responsibility from Witherley Parish Council to provide reassurance to the community and to ensure there is no interruption to these important local facilities.

The playgrounds in Ratcliffe Culey and Fenny Drayton remain open. All four defibs remain in their current locations and available 24/7. The Borough Council will work with partners locally to keep the equipment and sites maintained.

Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council Leader Stuart Bray said: “Defibrillators and safe play spaces are vital community assets. When it became clear that extra support was needed, we offered to take on responsibility so residents in Witherley, Fenny Drayton, Atterton and Ratcliffe Culey can continue to rely on these facilities. We’re pleased we’ve been able to help, and we’ll keep working to ensure there is no disruption.”
