Hinckley to benefit from new banking hub

The hub will provide access to cash services and banking facilities, ensuring residents can continue to carry out everyday banking transactions locally. It will also offer dedicated in-person banking services from major high street banks on designated days each week.

Welcoming the announcement, Leader of Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, Cllr Stuart Bray, said: "This is fantastic news for our residents and businesses. We have worked hard to make the case for retaining access to essential banking services in the town centre, and I am delighted that our efforts have been successful.

"The new banking hub will make a real difference, particularly for older residents and those who rely on face-to-face banking support. As more bank branches have closed across the country, it has become increasingly important that people can still access these services locally. I welcome the return of all the major banks to the town centre through this hub."

Banking hubs are shared banking spaces that allow customers of participating banks to access cash services and routine banking transactions. Community bankers from different banks visit the hub on specific days, enabling customers to speak to their own bank in person.

A spokesperson for Cash Access UK, which delivers banking hubs across the UK, said: "We are delighted to confirm that work is progressing on the delivery of a banking hub for Hinckley. The banking hub will be available to all residents before the closure of the last bank in town. We look forward to bringing this important service to the local community to ensure continued access to everyday banking services for all."
