Visitors enjoy a fun-filled Burbage Common Open Day 2026
Visitors to Burbage Common enjoyed a fun-packed day at the annual open day on Sunday (13 September).
The area around the visitor centre was home to a large marquee, which accommodated a variety of stalls including craft stalls, charity stalls and local and national environmental charities.
The dog show once again proved popular, with plenty of residents entering their dogs into a range of categories for all ages, shapes and sizes. Winners received prizes and rosettes.
There was entertainment throughout the day, including Morris dancing, cheerleading, tai chi demonstrations and performances from a ukulele band.
Families were able to take part in a range of activities including bug and bird box making, creating wildflower seed mats and archery.
Food and refreshment stalls were available throughout the day, while the farmers' market area gave visitors the opportunity to stock up on a range of tasty local produce.
Cllr Lynda Hodgkins, Executive Member for Parks and Open Spaces, said: "Burbage Common Open Day always makes for a fantastic time and this year was no different.
"It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying the activities and attractions on offer throughout the day. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the event such a success."
