Time to nominate your sporting heroes

VOTING has now started in the quest to find Hinckley & Bosworth's sporting heroes of 2015.

The organisers of the borough's 9th annual sports awards competition, Hinckley and Bosworth Sport and Health Alliance (HBSHA), are urging people to nominate those individuals and teams whose success deserves to be more widely celebrated.

It could be someone whose dedication, commitment or performance has excelled this year within their sport; someone who has been an inspiration; someone who has always gone that extra mile to support others; or someone who has changed their life around for the better through sport.

Nominations are needed for a number of categories, including:
  • Athletes of the Year
  • Clubs of the Year
  • Coach of the Year
  • Disabled Athlete awards
  • Volunteering awards
  • Healthy Lifestyle awards

Sue Houghton, Chair of Hinckley and Bosworth Sport and Health Alliance, said:

I know that within Hinckley and Bosworth we have a great depth of talent from the volunteers, who give of their time and expertise so freely, to the great performers who play their clubs and representative teams.

As a Sport and Health Alliance we want to celebrate, acknowledge and support the great talent we have in the borough. However, we can only do this with your help in submitting nominations and encouraging your colleagues to do so as well.

Voting forms can be accessed from the HBSHA website (hbsha.org.uk) and forms can also be picked up from many of the local sports clubs throughout the borough. Voting closes at 4pm on 7 November.

The awards evening will be held on 24 November 2015 at Bosworth Academy.
