Construction rubble tipped near Market Bosworth

Published Friday, 16 December 2016

THREE fly tips amounting to over 20 tonnes of construction-related waste were found on the same day in the Market Bosworth area.

It took three workmen from the Borough Council all day, using a mechanical digger and a skip, to remove the rubble from Green Lane, Barton in the Beans, the gated road between Sutton Cheney and Market Bosworth and Tinsel Lane, Wellsborough.

Due to the material dumped and the close proximity of the locations, council officers believe the fly tips may be linked.

Councillor Mark Nickerson, the Borough Council's Executive Member responsible for Neighbourhood Services, said: “We will follow up any leads we receive about the fly-tips and will seek to identify those responsible. The perpetrators should be aware that we will prosecute without hesitation and that there is an unlimited fine for large tips”.

If anyone has any information on these tips, please contact the council's the streetscene team on 01455 238141.
