A MYSTERY artist will be exhibiting in Hinckley's Atkins Gallery this month under the alias of the Happy Dabbler.

The Happy Dabbler has been painting and creating for many years and, with support from family and friends, is holding his first solo artist exhibition at Atkins Gallery until Saturday 21 October.

The exhibition, which is open from Monday to Friday (9.30am to 4pm - call for Saturday opening times), features a wide variety of original paintings, multimedia pieces and sculptures ranging from wildlife, landscapes to abstract.

It offers an insight to a personal artistic journey shown through the evolving choices of medium and subjects with energy and enthusiasm radiating from every piece.

During the exhibition, visitors can vote for their favourite piece and suggest a name for a large statement seascape featuring a maritime history ship.

The Borough Council’s Executive Member for Culture, Councillor Maureen Cook, said: “It never ceases to amaze me how much local talent we have.  I am really pleased this artist is exhibiting for the residents of Hinckley and Bosworth and look forward to visiting the Atkins Building myself.”
