HINCKLEY’S annual outdoor carol service brought some festive spirit to Hinckley town centre on Friday evening (14 December).
Hundreds of people braved the freezing cold weather to gather around the Christmas tree in the Market Place to sing a number of well-known carols. They were joined the Mayor of the Borough, Cllr Jan Kirby, and accompanied by musicians from Living Rock Church.
This year’s service was organised by Churches Together and the Borough Council and led by Reverend Simon Wearn, Rector, Holy Trinity Church in Hinckley.
Executive Member for Culture, Sport and Leisure at the Borough Council, Cllr Maureen Cook said:
On a chilly Friday afternoon this annual event once again brought our community together to celebrate Christmas. Hinckley town centre was full of atmosphere, whilst the carols, readings and community involvement reinforced the true meaning of Christmas. It made for a very seasonal and joyful occasion.
