Vote for your favourite park

Published Tuesday, 03 September 2019

Everyone is urged to vote for their favourite park in Hinckley and show how the UK loves parks.

The experts have had their say and in August both Hollycroft Park and Argents Mead were given a prestigious Green Flag Award.

Now Argents Mead and Hollycroft Park are up against some of the top parks in the country in a competition to find the ten most popular parks in the UK.

Both parks are listed in the online People's Choice Award, which gives the public the power to decide the top ten parks from all of the Green Flag Award sites across the UK.

Councillor Bill Crooks, the Borough Council’s Executive member for Parks and Open Spaces said:

We are very proud to have been awarded a Green Flag Award for both Hollycroft Park and Argents Mead, but it would be an honour if one or both of these parks was chosen to be one of the UK’s top 10 People’s Choice. Both parks are very popular, regularly used for a range of activities for children and adults alike.  I would urge Hinckley residents and visitors to take a few minutes to vote.

Voting is open until 30 September, with the top 10 sites being announced on 15 October.

Paul Todd, Green Flag Award Manager said:

This year we have had more Green Flag Award winning sites than ever before, The People’s Choice Award is an opportunity to show how much your favourite park means to you. Make your voice heard and vote now.
