Published Friday, 22 November 2019

A FREE FESTIVE Family Fun run hosted by Hinckley BID and the Borough Council will be held on Sunday 8 December in Hinckley Town Centre.

The run, which is just under a mile long, starts at 11.00am from the Market Place in Hinckley with participants invited to dress up as Santa, an elf or reindeer or wear their Christmas jumpers.

There will be medals for everyone sporting a festive theme at 12 noon. Well-behaved dogs (on leads) in fancy dress are welcome to join in. There will also be four gift vouchers to be won for the best festive costumes. £50 each for the best individual and the best turned out group, with two lucky runners-up each receiving £25 (1 x Junior, under 12yrs and 1 x Senior).

The route is suitable for all abilities including wheelchairs and pushchairs - walking, toddling or ambling is encouraged for any non-runners. There will be a fun warm-up routine at 10:30am from the ‘Healthy Elf’ for anyone who would like to limber up before they start.

Steve Wegerif, Director of Hinckley BID said: “This free fun event gets us all into the Christmas spirit, we have even organised a ‘Sweet Stop’ on the route for the children who will each receive a small bag of yummies…”

Entry is free and parking is free in all Council town centre car parks on Sundays. To pre-register, email
