FESTIVE SHOPPERS packed Hinckley town centre on Sunday (15 December) for Hinckley’s Festive Feast Christmas market.
The lure of the special Christmas market encouraged record breaking numbers of Sunday shoppers to brave the cold weather and come out to shop in the town, with around 10,000 people visiting the town during the event, the second largest footfall figures for a Sunday this year and second only to Hinckley BID’s Motorshow in September.
For the first time this year visitors were treated to live music while they browsed over 40 stalls, courtesy of Hinckley’s popular live band 4th Avenue who were performing festive favourites in front of the Christmas tree.
Stallholders including street foods, warming mulled wine and cider, crafts, gifts, collectibles plus Santa on Stilts and entertainment from Fosse 107 warmly welcomed shoppers and visitors.
Executive Member for Town Centres Cllr Keith Nichols said:
What a fabulous occasion to conclude our events for 2019. A great opportunity for shoppers to shop local, with the added benefit of festive entertainment, food and fun for all the family. Festive Feast has proved incredibly popular with stall holders and residents alike. It’s another great success for the town.
