Mayor of Hinckley and Bosworth thanks NHS as ‘Clap our Carers’ finishes

The weekly ‘Clap for our Carers’ is reportedly to finish after last Thursday (28 May), 10 weeks since the show of appreciation started.

Mayor of Hinckley & Bosworth, Councillor Lynda Hodgkins said:

On behalf of the borough can I thank our NHS, frontline staff and key workers and all who have been supporting us during this pandemic.

This weekly mark of gratitude has captured the mood of the country, in a small way letting the heroes of our health service know that we appreciate everything they are doing to keep us all safe and well during the coronavirus pandemic. It has been a fantastic tribute to the NHS.

As well as the staff of the NHS, can I take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in helping us to get through these unprecedented times; supermarket staff, delivery drivers, postal workers, teachers, farmers, the corner shop workers, the many volunteers who have supported their community and of course all council staff. The list is endless and I apologise for not covering everyone, but on behalf of the borough ‘thank you’.
