Popular Food Festival returns to Hinckley

A POPULAR FOOD FESTIVAL is returning to Hinckley this Bank Holiday weekend, 27-29 May.

Feast Hinckley, which has been organised by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, Hinckley BID and Event Inspire, promises to be the biggest and best food festival in Hinckley town centre yet, with a large array of local, regional, national and international food vendors offering their wares across Market Place, Castle Street and Argents Mead.

The food lovers event, which runs from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, will offer demonstrations from chefs in a special demo kitchen in Argents Mead along with free musical entertainment and plenty of activities to keep children happy along with a huge array of delicious foods and drinks to tempt every palate.

There will be an inflatable assault course open from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday for just £1, Smudgy the Clown will be entertaining children and there will be Music in the Mead performances in Argents Mead bandstand on Saturday 1pm to 3pm and on Sunday and Monday from 2pm to 4pm.

Visitors are reminded that parking is free all day on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday in all of Hinckley’s council run car parks.

This year's Feast will feature local bars and restaurants including Ponchinellos, Elbow Room, FAB Noodle and Rossini's as well as Hinckley’s Market and Farmer’s Market traders who will be showcasing the very best in local produce and delicious dishes.

The event has also attracted interest from regional, national and international street food traders and mobile bars which will be bringing their wares to the town.

Food on offer will include traditional Italian pizzas and pastas, noodles, jams, chutneys, pickles and preserves, homemade cakes, handmade fudge and sweet treats, hot potatoes with traditional and exotic flavourings, Mexican cuisine, steaks and gourmet burgers, Caribbean jerk chicken and curried mutton rice, organic fruit and vegetables, handcrafted cheeses, freshly prepared meats, local pork pies and mustards and pestos, with plenty of choice to tempt everyone including gluten free and other special dietary options. 

Visitors can opt to drink speciality teas, coffees and hot chocolates, delicious fresh juices, smoothies and shakes as well as an array of alcoholic drinks for adults including rum and fruit punch served in pineapples, bottled craft beers, speciality gins, wines and ciders.

Food and drink traders confirmed so far are: Coffee Rio, Ponchinellos, Elbow Room, FAB Noodle, Rossini Restaurant, Eat Lean, The Ginger Barista, Hetties Homemade, Homemade by Linda, Beth Bakes, JKM Hot Potatoes, Picks Organic, Mexibros, The Old Brick Café, Taste d’Vibez Jerk Chicken, Riverford Organic fruit and veg, Savannah Catering, Fowlers Forest Dairies, Love Food, Hate Waste, Springfield Catering, The Bakewell Tart, The Baron, The Tipple Truck, Sainsbury's and The Pork Society with more traders being added every day.
