Recycling - kerbside service

New for 2012

This year we will be providing recycling wheeled bins to all homes in the borough.

The combined use of ‘wheeled bin with inner caddy’ keeps the paper/cardboard separate (to ensure high quality of this materials and reduce the cost of the service to the borough), whilst making the sorting, storing and moving of the recycling a much easier and cleaner process for everyone.

Sizes

There are two sizes of recycling wheeled bins and caddies:

• 240 litre bin with a 55 litre inner caddy
• 140 litre bin with a 19 litre inner caddy

You will receive one 240 litre bin and one 55 litre inner caddy. This is the standard size for delivery and will suit the majority of homes. (240 litre bins is the standard size for the black refuse bins and the brown garden waste bins).

Please contact us if you require additional bins and caddies.

If the smaller bin and caddy is more suitable then please contact us.

The caddy

The caddy is designed to sit on the left hand side of the wheeled bin. The curved end goes at the back. There is no need for residents to lift the caddy in and out of the wheeled bin. The crew will lift out the caddies and put them back in the correct place. Please note: The caddy is not designed to stand on the floor, so please leave it inside your wheeled bin.
