The bogus caller alarm

Help at the touch of a button

Man pointing to button on door

We offer the bogus alarm as an adaptation working in conjunction with our Lifeline, providing doorstep security and reassurance in the event of an unexpected or unwanted caller.

What is it?

A small discreet panic button fixed near an external door, for use in the event of an unwanted caller. This is offered currently at no additional cost to the lifeline.

We do not provide a key safe. If one is required then it is the responsibility of the lifeline user or their family to arrange this.

What does it do?

This panic button, once activated, silently raises a call to our control centre, manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our control centre will be able to hear into the property via the lifeline intercom unit, monitoring and recording the doorstep conversation. A panic button can be provided for both front and rear doors of a property. The activation is completely silent, so the unwanted caller will not know that the panic button has been activated.

What happens next?

Our control centre will monitor the doorstep conversation, and if required will call a nominated friend, family member, neighbour, or the emergency services. We will keep the line open to continually monitor the situation and the users safety.

This installation is completely free as an adaptation to a Lifeline. The lifeline and monitoring service is offered on a six week free trial with a small weekly charge thereafter of £4.96 (plus VAT, though VAT exemption may apply). Please note, this will increase to £5.15 plus VAT if applicable from 1 April 2024.

If you would like any additional information, or you would like to book an installation with our assistive technology officer, please call the Control Centre using one of the methods below.
