Inviting the Mayor to an event
Responding to event invitations
Invitations are considered on a first come, first served basis. However, priority is given to the Mayor attending events taking place within the borough of Hinckley & Bosworth. You are welcome to telephone in advance to check the Mayor's availability.
We will try to send you a reply within seven days of receiving the invitation. When the Mayor has accepted the invitation, a straightforward questionnaire will be sent for you to complete and return. The form is designed to find out about essential details such as parking arrangements for the Mayor and dress requirements. This will not be necessary if you have invited the Mayor using the online form.
The Mayor does not require any form of payment when invited to perform a civic duty.
Should the Mayor be unavailable either due to leave or sickness, then if appropriate the invitation will be passed to the Deputy Mayor or a senior councillor.
