Councillors are entitled to receive an allowance for the work they do, and an additional payment for any special responsibilities that they may have. The current version of the scheme of members’ allowances is contained in our constitution: part five - scheme of members' allowances
The Independent Remuneration Panel on Members’ Allowances made recommendations to Council for a new scheme of allowances in 2019. The amended scheme took effect on 1 April 2020.
