Selected list of approved contractors

An approved list holds details of organisations approved by the council to carry out specific works and services.

The council does not have a corporate select list of approved contractors, although this is currently under consideration.

However, we select our suppliers in the following way:

  • Housing building maintenance - suppliers who are registered on Construction Line may be invited to tender
  • General building maintenance and specialist activities - again the council uses the Construction Line database, but supplements this with its own select list
  • Parks and Countryside Team has a select list of approved contractors - contact Parks and Countryside Team on 01455 255983 or 01455 255858

In all circumstances, applicants are required to complete a questionnaire, which is used to assess suitability. This covers the following aspects:

  • Technical ability
  • Financial standing
  • Health and safety policies/procedures
  • Equal opportunities
  • Environmental policy
