Statement from the Mayor
We are all deeply saddened to receive the news of the death of Her Majesty The Queen.
As Britain’s longest-reigning monarch HRH Queen Elizabeth II was deeply respected and admired throughout the world.
On behalf of the elected members and all those who work for the Borough Council I would like to pass on my condolences to the new King and all members of the Royal family at this very sad time. As a mark of respect, during the period of Royal mourning we will fly the union flag at half-mast across the borough.
