Draft Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy
Overview
The Borough Council is consulting on its draft Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy and wants to hear whether people think the six priorities in the strategy are the right ones, and whether any changes should be made before it is finalised.
The draft strategy has been shaped by work with partners over recent months, including feedback gathered at an event in September 2026. The strategy will guide how the council and its partners prevent and respond to homelessness, meet their legal duties, work towards ending rough sleeping and improve support for people who are homeless or at risk of losing their home. It will also cover the different ways homelessness can affect people, including those who may be staying with friends or family, living in insecure housing, using temporary accommodation or sleeping rough.
