Fees and how to apply
The fee for a temporary event notice (TEN) is £21 per notice.
The £21 fee is to cover the cost of officers and administrators time from Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council (as the licensing authority) and officers from the two responsible authorities, Environmental Health and Leicestershire Police who are consulted on every application.
The fee is not refundable if the application:
- Is withdrawn
- Is cancelled
- is too late
- Is unsuccessful
- The event does not go ahead for any reason
- You have exceeded the maximum number of TENS or days allowed by law
Please note: a temporary event notice cannot be changed once acknowledged by the licensing authority. You can cancel a temporary event notice up to 24 hours before the event is going to take place, this event will then not count towards your total yearly allowance of temporary event notices. However, your application fee cannot be refunded.
Disclaimer: By proceeding with the application, you have agreed that you have read and understood the above information.
Please refer to the Guidance notes (PDF) before you complete your application form as this will help you fill it in correctly.
You must apply at least 10 working days before your event, which excludes the day you apply and the day of the event.
You can apply online for a temporary event notice. If you apply online, a copy of your application will also be sent automatically to the Police and Environmental Health. You can pay online when you have submitted your application.
Alternatively, we can send you an application form: contact Licensing
Please note: If you apply by using a paper copy of the form then you will have to send one copy to the Police and two to Environmental Health (the addresses are given on the form). They must receive your application within 10 working days or between nine and five working days in case of a late TEN. You will need to pay either online or by cheque. We will need both the application form and the payment in order to process your application.
