Importance of textile recycling
Did you know that textiles are unsuitable for landfill?
Man-made fibres don't decompose and even natural fibres, such as wool, will emit methane gases as they break down in the landfill sites.
Research shows that over one million tonnes of textiles end up in landfill sites from householders in the UK. So it's really important that unwanted clothing and accessories are reused and collected for recycling.
