Summary of report
Our greenhouse gas emissions from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020 was 2,216 tonnes CO2e. This calculation only included scope one and scope two emissions and the overall split is 74% scope one and 26% scope two.
Council vehicles are responsible for 43% of council emissions, making them our largest contribution to greenhouse gas emissions. Work is underway to reduce carbon emitted by our vehicles as we look at alternative fuel supplies such as hydrotreated vegetable oil and electric.
We report on our greenhouse gas emissions annually, with 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 being joined into one report due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. They will be reported in the coming months.
