Hinckley Probus, All Pals (and Gals) Together
It is difficult in these stressful times to unwind and just enjoy life in the company of friends with the same tastes and opinions. Hinckley Probus meets on the first Monday of every month at 10:30am to talk about shared and local interest, there is the opportunity to stay for lunch after. Hinckley & District Parkinson’s Group
The Hinckley Group in support of people with Parkinson’s Disease, their families and carers. Some of those who attend have been newly diagnosed while others have had the condition for many years. It is a useful way of sharing information and support.
The monthly meetings continue throughout the summer on the second Sunday of every month at 2:30pm. At the Mary Forryan Centre, LE10 1LW. Other activities include:
- ‘Get Active’ held on Tuesdays at 2:30pm at the St. Francis Centre, LE10 0EQ
- ‘Movement to Music’ held on Fridays at 2:15pm at Elmesthorpe Village Hall LE9 7SP
- ‘Singing for Fun’ held on Fridays at 4pm at Elmesthorpe Village Hall LE9 7SP
Carers Group on the third Tuesday of every month at 2:30pm at St Francis Centre, LE10 0EQ.
Indoor Bowling at Barwell Bowls Club on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
Parkinson’s Drop-in Cafe at Gates Garden Centre, Stapleton, LE9 8JE on the third Monday of every month from 2 to 4pm.

Regular ‘Friends of Hollycroft Park’ activities at Hollycroft Park, Hinckley
Community Café is open the first and third Wednesday of every month from 10am to 1pm, from Wednesday 1 February and runs all year. Volunteer gardening closes in November and reopens on the first Saturday of every month from 10am to 12pm from April each year. Veterans Coffee Morning, The Green Rooms
Are you a former armed forces veteran? Would you like to meet fellow vets in the area? If the answer is yes, then please join us every second Wednesday of the month at the Green Rooms Masonic Hall on St Mary’s Road, Hinckley. Come and have a natter, accompanied by tea, coffee, biscuits and cakes with the occasional special guest, entertainment, alongside a raffle. The coffee morning runs from 10am to 12pm, offering advice and support throughout the duration of the morning. Your families and carers are also welcome. At C.A.R.S., we are dedicated to supporting people living with cancer and their families across the county. Our friendly monthly hubs offer a welcoming space where you can drop in to connect with others, access trusted information and take part in activities designed to support your well-being.

Teaching is on a one-to-one basis. Subjects covered in lessons include ancestry and family tree, photo editing, slide-show production, Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and file management, or if there is anything you wish to learn within IT we’ll be able to accommodate. You can bring your own laptop or tablet or use the desktop computers provided. The Pathways Café serves a range of refreshments before and after the lesson. Cost: £41 per term (approximately 10 lessons) Every Thursday 9am to 10am; 10:30am to 11:30am; 12pm to 1pm. Booking is essential.
