Overview
In certain situations, we count the property (and not the people in the property) for council tax purposes. This is a 50% discount which applies in the following situations:
- People staying in certain hostels or night shelters
- Members of religious communities (monks and nuns)
- A person who is living alone who qualifies for the apprentice council tax discount
