Come and enjoy a Saturday afternoon of musical entertainment in the beautiful Argents Mead with live performances of The Boombox Betties.

Argents Mead bandstand

The Boombox Betties put a stylish twist on rock, metal, and a mix of other genres, reimagining them in a smooth lounge and retro-inspired sound. With rich harmonies, vintage flair, and clever reinventions of well-known tracks, they deliver performances that are both nostalgic and refreshingly unique. Whether they’re transforming heavy riffs into sultry grooves or giving classic tunes a glamorous retro makeover, The Boombox Betties bring charm, creativity, and a standout musical experience to every stage

Thornton Open Gardens

  • Cost: £5 per adult (accompanied children free)

Visit Thornton Open Gardens; a lovely rural village with delightful views over Thornton reservoir.

What's on offer:

  • A dozen gardens to visit
  • Cream teas and other refreshments on sale at the community centre
  • Plant sale (cash only) 
  • St Peter's Church will be open
  • Refreshments, stalls and other attractions around the village
  • Dogs on leads welcome at most of the gardens

Cash preferred for entry and refreshments. Entry wristbands with programme will be available from Thornton Nurseries, The Bricklayers Arms, The Corner Shop.

Accessibility: It should be noted that Thornton is a ridge village and so many of the gardens are on slopes or are terraced and therefore not ideal for those in wheelchairs or with impaired mobility. Some of the pavements are also narrow. 

Armed Forces Day Service and Parade

In partnership with the Hinckley combined Armed Forces and Veterans Community. Everyone is welcome to come and thank our past and present serving armed forces.

A special service and parade will be held in Hinckley to enable people to show their support for the Armed Forces.
