An event taking place as part of Heritage open days 2019.

Grade II listed 13th Century church with fine box pews and a memorial to King Richard III, who is said to have heard his last Mass here before the Battle of Bosworth.

Includes a memorial in the churchyard to William Roberts who built the village almshouses.

This event takes place during two weekends: Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 September and Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September from 9am until dusk.

An event taking place as part of Heritage open days 2019.

Grade II listed church with several stained glass windows and a Norman tower. Includes memorials to the Fisher family, Rectors of the parish. Geoffrey Fisher became Archbishop of Cantebury and crowned Queen Elizabeth in 1953.

This event takes place over two weekends: Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 September and Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September Open during daylight hours.

Christmas tree festival

The annual Christmas tree festival launches at St Mary's Church, Hinckley, on the evening of Thursday 28 November with the switch-on by the Mayor of Hinckley.

Festival opening times:

  • 6:30pm to 9pm on Thursday 28 November
  • 10am to 4pm on Friday 29 November
  • 10am to 4pm on Saturday 30 November
  • 12 noon to 4pm on Sunday 1 December
  • 10am to 4pm on Monday 2 December

Let's dance

Every Monday evening for adults who want to dance for fun.

Dance routine styles: modern jazz, lyrical/theatre craft, disco/freestyle and ballet.

Teacher, Elaine Atkins (IDTA) said "You do not have to have danced before. If you have a good sense of rhythm and co-ordination, this is the class for you. Wear whatever you are comfortable in, plus trainers or dance shoes."

Strictly fun (dance exercise)

Every Monday morning come and join us for simple, low impact, dance exercise routines. For adults of all ages and fitness levels. No partner required.

Just put on your trainers for one hour of dancing fun.

The dance exercise routines are made up of simple dance moves, using a variety of music in different dance styles: Salsa, Tango, Hustle, Cha-Cha, Jive, Charleston and more.
