Children and young people
Active School Award
This award is for a school that has achieved increasing participation in sport and physical activity, creating opportunities for all pupils across the school to be active in the last 12 months.
Active Travel School
This award is for a school that has encouraged participation during Active Travel Month. This could be a school that has spent extra time and energy educating children on the benefits of active travel, focus on upskilling and life-skills, or the school where pupils have walked and cycled the most!
Junior Club of the Year
This award is for a club that has proven their dedication and proactiveness in encouraging sports and physical activity for young people in a safe and welcoming environment over the last 12 months. This club must operate outside of school.
Junior Sports Person of the Year
This award is for a young sportsperson who has excelled in their chosen sport. We are looking for someone who can show success and improvement over the last 12 months, whether the competitions entered are local, county-specific, regional, national, or international.
Junior Team of the Year
This award is for a team whose members are under the age of 18 years, that runs outside the school environment and has shown great success, determination and commitment during the last 12 months.
Outstanding Contribution (Juniors)
This award is for a young person who has gone above and beyond in their local community. This award is to celebrate those that have a desire to make long-lasting difference in sport or physical activity. This can include exceptional leadership, innovation, or dedication that benefits their organisation or community.
School Wellbeing Award
This award is for a school that has proven their passion for student wellbeing through actions. Those that have encouraged or increased participation in wellbeing events and have aided in their students learning new wellbeing and mindfulness skills.
School Team of the Year
Primary and secondary school teams are nominated separately but announced at the same time
This award is for a school team that has not only achieved competitive success but has done so with a strong team spirit and the best sporting values over the last 12 months.
Young Mentor of the Year
This award recognises a young person who has demonstrated exceptional vision, leadership, and dedication in their mentorship role. A young mentor who serves as an inspiring and approachable role model, supporting growth, confidence and skill development.
Junior Volunteer of the Year
This award recognises a young person who has shown dedication and enthusiasm through volunteering for a club, team or organisation. This can be someone who marshals car parks at local football clubs, to someone who scans tokens at their park run – anyone who takes time out of their day to support local sport and physical activity.
Adults
Coaches Contribution Award
This award recognises a qualified coach who goes above and beyond to ensure that their classes are a positive experience.
Inclusivity Award
Do you know an instructor, team, club, or sports group, committed to creating an inclusive environment to those who need more representation in sports? This award recognises individuals, teams, clubs or sports groups who set the example, breaking down barriers and creating a more equitable environment for all individuals, regardless of their background or ability.
Inspiring Instructor Award
This award recognises an exceptional instructor who has made a lasting impact on their pupils. This individual is a role model to motivate, encourage and support individuals on their journey, helping them to achieve more.
Adult Mentor of the Year Award
This award recognises an adult who has demonstrated exceptional vision, leadership, and dedication in their mentorship role either in the community, workplace, as a long-term friend or within their club environment. They serve as an inspiring and approachable role model in supporting growth, confidence and skill development.
Outstanding Contribution Award
This award recognises individuals who have gone above and beyond in their roles and made a significant positive impact over the last 12 months. This could be through exceptional leadership, innovation or dedication in benefit of their organisation or community.
Sports Club of the Year Award
This award is for a club that has demonstrated commitment to the development of the members of their club, including participants, coaches and volunteers in the last 12 months. The club must have engaged well with their local community and have an effective management structure which will sustain the club in the future. Nominated clubs may have extended access to their sport to include people who do not normally have the opportunity to take part, engaging people from 'hard to reach' groups.
Sports Person of the Year Award
This award is for a sportsperson who has exceeded all expectations in their performances. We are looking for individuals who have achieved success or vastly improved their performance over the last 12 months whether the competitions entered are local, county-specific, regional, national, or international.
Sports Team of the Year Award
This award is for a sports team which has not only achieved competitive success but has done so with a strong team spirit and the best sporting values over the last 12 months. The team may have found success with supporting new members, securing new funding or contributing to the success of the larger club.
Disability Sports Person of the Year Award
This award honours individuals for the exceptional talent, perseverance, and ability to overcome challenges required for a sports person with a disability, in recognition of their achievements over the last 12 months.
Out of Hours Hero
Do you know someone who is the first one to arrive at their local park run, someone who gets their weekly number of steps in during the weekend? We’re looking to celebrate those people who get moving in their downtime, those who advocate taking the stairs over a lift, and those who encourage and support those around them to do the same.
Warm Welcome Award
Do you know an instructor, club, or team that makes you feel welcome as you walk through the door? Show your appreciation here and they will be acknowledged in our special mentions and receive a certificate.
