THE prestigious Coventry University Drawing Prize will be returning to Hinckley's Atkins Gallery this month, following its successful staging in the gallery last year.

The competition, which is in its seventh year, will include entries from Coventry University staff and students past and present and will feature a variety of drawings of different styles and scale. The winners will receive local residency and cash prizes.

The exhibition is free to attend and is open to the public from 19 to 30 April (Monday to Saturday 8.30am to 2.30pm). The exhibition's launch event is taking place on 21 April at 6pm and is open for all to attend and provides an opportunity to meet the artists involved.

Councillor Jan Kirby, Art and Tourism Champion at the Borough Council said: "This exhibition promises to be a great showcase for a whole host of different drawing styles; I look forward to seeing all the entries."

If anyone is interested in exhibiting in the Atkins Gallery they should email, while more information on upcoming events and exhibitions can be found on the Atkins Gallery website (
