Voters urged to make sure they are registered to vote March 2019

Published Tuesday, 12 March 2019

WITH JUST UNDER eight weeks to go until the local elections, the Borough Council is encouraging its residents to make sure they’re registered to vote.

On Thursday 2 May local voters will go to the polls to elect their borough and parish councillors.

Bill Cullen, Chief Executive at Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, said: “I am encouraging everyone eligible to vote in Hinckley and Bosworth to take action now if they haven’t registered to vote already, particularly residents who have recently moved and young people who will be 18 on or before 2 May.

“Our message is simple: if you are not registered by 12 April, you can’t vote. It’s easy to do and only takes a few minutes online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. If you’re not sure, please double check.”

To register to vote visit: register-to-vote (GOV.UK). Residents can also check whether they’re registered to vote by calling us on tel. 01455 255835.
