Comment on a planning application

Consultation period

You have 21 days to make comments from the date we send out our consultation letter relating to a planning application. This date will be published under important dates in our planning application search, planning online.

Before making your observations you should take time to view the application.

Comment online

You can comment on a planning application using planning online, planning application search. 

To comment on a planning application you need to know its application reference (e.g. 02/00001/FUL). Enter the reference into the search box in planning online and click search. If you are unsure of the application number please contact Development Services on 01455 238141. You can also search for planning applications via planning online using a combination of property details such as property name, number, postcode and street.

Other ways to comment

You can also comment by emailing planning@hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk or by writing in to Development Services at the main council address, stating the application number and site address.

Personal data

Before submitting any comments via planning online you must read the following information regarding use of your personal data.

All representations received in response to planning applications form part of the application documentation and therefore must be made available for public inspection in accordance with the Local Government 1972 (as amended by the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985).  Provision is made within the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 for publishing such information.

Please note therefore that any representations made cannot be treated as confidential by the authority. 

All personal data such as email addresses, telephone numbers, names and signatures will be removed and will not be made available for viewing.

Please note that contributors (the person making the comment) will not receive notification of the decision.
