History enthusiasts and families are once again invited to a series of Heritage Open Days across the borough this September.

With open days provided by the Atkins Building, Hinckley & District Museum and there will be medieval activities on offer in Argent’s Mead on Saturday 13 September for all to have a go.

Heritage weekend at St Peter's Church

Join in on events around the borough celebrating our heritage.

Heritage Weekend at St. Peter’s Church, Thorton. LE10 1AA.

Grade 1 listed historical church with a wealth of history; Historic Thornton’ Exhibition with fascinating insights into the history of our village; old maps of Thornton (1794 to 1919); Chat with local amateur historian; part of national ‘heritage open days’; cake stall with home-baked cakes (Saturday only).

Unfortunately access to the church is by steps and there is currently no wheelchair access (but we are working on it).

Refreshments will be on sale on the Saturday.

  • Sunday 1pm to 4:30pm
