St George's Day parade

St George’s Day

Saturday 23 April, 10am to 2.30pm: Market Place/Argents Mead

Patriotic fun with Anker Morris Men, Punch and Judy, Tom the tale teller, roaming face painter, and an exciting new play Shakespeare in Hinckley plus St George on stilts.

The Scout parade will leave St Mary’s school at 1.15pm

Proms in the park

Thursday 2 June, Hollycroft Park

In partnership with Hinckley Round Table this evening concert will feature Leicester’s Bardi Wind Orchestra performing a programme of royal music. Gates open at 5pm, show commences at 6pm with an 8.30pm finish

Thursday 2 June, 9.15pm to 10pm: Argents Mead

Beacons will be lit across the UK at 9.45pm to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Friday 3 and Saturday 4 June, 1pm to 3pm: Argents Mead.

Friday 3 June: theatre style show, ‘Salute to the 1940s’. Features a cast of six performing tributes to Vera Lynn, George Formby, Gracie Fields and more

Saturday 4 June: The Emperors of Rhythm will have you dancing with 1950s songs including hits by Tommy Steel, Billy Fury and some good old fashioned Rock n roll.

Armed forces parade

Armed Forces Day and Falkland commemoration

Saturday 25 June, 10am to 2pm: Argents Mead.

Armed Forces Day and Falkland 40th Anniversary Commemoration. In partnership with the Hinckley combined Armed Forces and veterans' community. 

Everyone welcome to come and thank our past and present serving armed forces.

Service at 11am lead by Revd Ian Hill from Churches Together. There will be a parade through the town centre.

Snap Dragon children’s festival

Wednesday 3 to Friday 5 August, 11am to 3pm: Argents Mead

Three fun filled days for all the family with free have-a-go workshops, crafts run by the United Reformed Church, shows in the bandstand and much more. 

  • Wednesday - National play day
  • Thursday - Let the games begin
  • Friday - Kings and queens party

Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August, 10am to 5pm: Argents Mead

Around 50 vendors each day will be offering a wide variety of local and international food and drink plus live bands.
