Pamela Wills served as a Conservative councillor for the Higham and Stoke Golding area for a total of 16 years from 1979 to 1995 and was Mayor of Hinckley and Bosworth twice, first in in 1986-1987 and again in 1994-1995.

Pamela’s daughter, Suzanne recalls her mum became an active member of the Higham community after bringing her family up in the village. “Mum was honoured to represent the borough as Mayor. She thoroughly enjoyed meeting people and sharing the knowledge and experiences she learned along the way to improve things where she could.”

Borough Councillor Joyce Crooks who served alongside Mayor Wills paid tribute to the councillor’s public service: “This is very sad news. When I was Deputy Mayor I was privileged to work alongside Pam for a short time and I remember her as a committed, hardworking and decent public servant who understood and cared for the community she served. She was courteous and took her role as Mayor very seriously.”

Funeral service will take place on Monday 29 November. Family flowers only please. Donations are being raised in memory of Pamela for Cancer Research. For more information contact MG Evans Funeral Directors, Atherstone on 01827 713240
